Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report – 5/11/14

Katrina from Cronulla

Katrina from Cronulla had a nice bonus experience with a fresh mud crab steamed up on board in a special sauce whilst on a fishing tour on the Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventure.

This week has seen some great catches of whiting through the stretches of Noosaville with some tipping the ruler at 40cm. You must be patient for the bigger fish though as the smaller fish are quick at attacking the bait. But with patients there are some big flathead, trevally and tailor being caught at the river mouth, Woods Bay. Best baits have been live baitfish, yabbies and live worms.

There has been some quality flathead around the river mouth on the run in tide. The most successful results have been drifting using pilchards and white bait.

Weyba creek has produced average size whiting and flathead drifting over the sandbars and up towards the bridge. Between the top lakes has been good for grunter bream and the odd mangrove jack and maybe a threadfin salmon on lures and live baits.

Until next week good luck from the boys at O Boats.

Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report – 23/10/14

Robert and his 40cm Whiting

Up on holidays from the Hunter Valley Robert earned himself with the fish of the week with this nice 40cm whiting he caught on the Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventure tour.

Still good whiting are on the bite this week but most of them have moved up river with the best catches up at Lake Cooroibah.

The Noosa river mouth was patchy with mainly larger predators on the prowl of baitfish where we saw tailor, trevally and the odd cobia caught and jew fish active very early or late in the day. Live bait seem to work best as always here.

The frying Pan, Woods Point and Bays have whiting, bream, flathead and the odd trevally on the bite while Weyba Creek much the same with some moses perch and cod also. The stretch along Noosaville saw whiting on the sand banks, bream, flathead and trevally caught mostly on live worms, yabbies or white bait.

Further up at both entrances to the first lake we saw good sized whiting, some flathead and bream but the bottom of the tide showed little action.

Between the top lakes early and late there are a few large jewies and jacks on offer and more active if you have live bait fish or lures can also work.

There are still several sand crabs getting around the mouth of Weyba Creek and opposite Munna Beach.

Partly cloudy to start the week but then sunny days leading up to what looks like another busy weekend on the Noosa River and just some cloud early next week.

Until next week good luck from the boys at O Boats.

Wow, O-boats sure has come along way from the little shack with rental boats on that beautiful Noosa River, now to Facebook, great to see. O-boats is definitely a piece of what makes the Noosa River in Noosaville, so glad to still see it there.

Oh man…. O Boat Hire is the first memory I have of Noosa. I swear I spent every waking moment here when Hazel and Tom owned it. Memories….

Roy and Kaye from Noosaville

We manage a holiday complex at Noosaville and during our time here we have used O Boat Hire quite a few times and found them to be very professional, helpful and friendly. We have no hesitation in recommending them to future guests for their boat hire outings. Their boats are modern with a high standard in safety and comfort.

Andy, Shar, James, Mikey and Claire from England

Very relaxed stuff and a wonderful afternoon spent on the boat. The boat that was recommended to us was the perfect size and we caught fish.

Many thanks

Luke Clark

My partner and I recently hired a Front Runner Deluxe for 4 hours. I would like to say that I was very impressed by your customer service. With many boat companies in Noosa, we found ourselves coming back to your establishment to hire a vessel. We found your prices in the brochure to be very decent.
